e May Fire was truly a community triumph. Even though we knew fire season was upon us here in Southern California, it still caught us by surprise. Around noon, many of us noticed a small fire at the top of the hill known as Juniper Springs. Within a short time, we watched planes and helicopters knock it down. We thought, "Well, that was interesting." We went on with our day, only to be alerted by 6 pm that the fire had f lared up again and was moving down the hill despite the best efforts of our outstanding fire departments. Because of their dedication, teamwork, leadership, and determination, they saved our homes. Our Emergency Preparedness Committee also deserves recognition. They provided reassurance to our residents by being ready and prepared to act in a support role alongside the police and fire departments. The Hemet Golf Course for supplying water for the air defense and having the sprinklers going to defend the course and our community. It is always a sight to see the helicopters taking the water from the ponds. We would also like to recognize the leadership of our FirstService Residential management team, led by Jon Payne and Mari Salazar. Their focus and communication with the Fire Chiefs helped ensure the efficient positioning of fire assets in our lodge parking lots and throughout the community. It is my understanding that the following agencies and organizations were involved in helping keep our homes safe: • CAL FIRE / Riverside County Fire Department • Riverside County Sheriff 's Department • Hemet Police Department • Hemet Fire Department • AMR Ambulance • Southern California Edison • Southern California Gas Company • Riverside County Animal Control While we have much to celebrate, we also recognize that there are steps we can take to be even better prepared for future challenges. I want to assure all of our friends and neighbors that we have already formed action groups to address these opportunities and strengthen our preparedness efforts. I wish all of us a safe and happy Fourth of July. Message from the Board of Directors 2 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | JULY 2026 | Sincerely, and on behalf of your Board of Directors, Cliff Post, Mary Reyna, Rick Adkins, Dan Ramos, Barbra Balser, Paul Barr, Pam Hayter Cliff Post, President Supervisor's Message By Supervisor Yxstian Gutierrez With recent nearby wildfires, I'd like to highlight the Heli-Hydrant initiative I've championed for your safety. We have installed four out of seven heli-hydrants along the Pass Area to provide a rapid response during fire emergencies by providing helicopters with a way to quickly access water. Their impact was shown during the Lemon Fire in Cabazon. The fire started at two acres and threatened to expand to as much as 700 acres. However, firefighters utilized two hydrants in Cabazon to quickly refill helicopters and successfully contain the fire at just 14 acres with minimal damage. Our community is safer with this infrastructure in concert with first responders who work tirelessly to protect our region.
