64 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | JULY 2026 Way back in May, we had a couple of special tennis events. Tennis was the third event of the third annual Paddle & Racquet Trifecta. The chilly Sunday morning was tough going for the survivors of Saturday's marathon of paddle tennis and pickleball, but once the tennis matches got going and bodies more or less loosened up, we had a great time on the courts. There were no medals for each sport, but the overall Trifecta winners (pictured below) got awards, and everyone received a monogrammed hand towel as a memento of the weekend's event. The winners were Robert Mahan in first, with Stan Lam in second and Richard Carrasco in third. Hard-hitting Tracy Mahan was the top scoring woman. Later that month, we held an invitational event to host our tennis friends from Sun Lakes. Though largely blockaded by the immovable vehicular traffic on the dire Strait of Highland Springs, peace-loving citizens of Sun Lakes overcame their geographical antipathies to travel west to Four Seasons from their eastern enclave for a day of social tennis and barbecued burgers. And then they kicked some Beaumont butts. With their real names not being used because they did not sign the release forms, pseudonymous players included Dee Pends, a real go- getter that nothing could get past, who played along with Arthur Rytis who couldn't get a grip in the chilly morning. Justin Side was successful hitting the alleys; Rudy Volley was tough at the net; but Ida Noah DeScore was often confused. Nevertheless, everyone had fun and enjoyed getting to meet some new tennis aficionados. Mike Olson continues to manage the recycling project, generating significant funding that supports the activities of the club. Look for the email reminders about collection dates, typically every other month. Please watch your Tennis Club emails to see the start times for the Saturday FUNdamental drills and helpful coaching. Regular last-Saturday-of-the-month Play Days will have sign-ins at 8:30 am and play beginning at 9 am. All residents are welcome at the Drills and Play Days. The Tennis Club Committee meets monthly on the last Monday at 4 pm at The Summit. Members are welcome to attend.
