| OHCC LIVING | JULY 2026 | 29
In years past, the Photo Club has gone dark in July and August.
This year, we're going to try to put together a couple of workshops in
July and August, having them at the usual meeting times. The first
workshop will go over the updated version of Google Photos, which
now has some editing capabilities that leave Apple's Photos app in
the dust. The August workshop is TBD.
We also have July 18, hanging of selected photos in the Art Studio.
Bring your framed photos, no more than three, beginning at 9 am
on Sat., July 18, and the Art Studio folks will decide which to display
and where in the room they will go. This year we have a theme:
"America the Beautiful." Try to have it done before 10 am.
In the fall, we plan to have a group outing to downtown San Diego
and the waterfront. The concept is that we'll have an assignment to
shoot photos as if for a magazine. In September, we'll meet in the
Clubhouse and receive our "assignment." In October, we'll actually
go downtown and take photos. We'll investigate ways of getting
there, possibly using carpools, or even better, the Coaster. We'll
each assemble our favorite photos and send them in, and then in
November we'll get together and review the results in the Clubhouse.
Enclosed find some photos downtown taken a few years ago when
I was on jury duty. In Superior Court downtown. I didn't know how
to move it to Vista, but I do now. We'll see if any of those subjects
are still around. A lot is happening to Seaport Village.
We're planning to have a holiday social in the Clubhouse on Dec.
17. A couple of bottles of bubbly might appear. It's okay as long as
we don't charge for it.
The Photo Club meets monthly on the third Thursday at 1 pm in
the Lamia Room, unless we decide to go offsite. To join, drop off a
$10 check to OH Photography Club at the front desk. Written by Jim
