Welcome to July and our fun and warm weather. By doing Aerobics, we continue to improve our strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and overall body conditioning to enjoy those outdoor activities. The Aerobics class is a low impact class; there is NO floor work but lots of fun music. Classes are available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in Abravanel Hall from 10 to 11 am. Based on your schedule, you attend the number of classes that feel right for you. You can attend two classes before joining the Aerobics Club to see if it is the fun exercise, you are looking for. The cost is $5 per class paid directly to Christine Alesiani, our instructor. The annual dues for 2026 Aerobic Club are $ 10. Note: there is no class on the second Wednesday of each month when the Garden Club holds its meeting. Written by Kathy Palys Our annual Swim Clinic is almost here! If you're a Swim & Wellness Club member, you have an incredible opportunity to have professional swimming lessons - for FREE. Yes, every July, the club holds a clinic for any member who either wants to learn to swim or wants to perfect what they already know. For three Saturdays in July 11, 18 and 25 - we'll host a one-hour session, from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Instruction will take place first for about 30-45 minutes. Then there will be time to practice under a watchful eye. We have several experienced swimming teachers to help you feel comfortable in the water, learn strokes, perfect your breathing or whatever you need. We do require that you sign up in advance, however, so that we can match you with the appropriate teacher. Contact Lynn Topar at lynnswmm@gmail.com for more information and to sign up. You must be a Swim & Wellness Club member to take advantage of this FREE and FUN service. Ladies, have you used the new swimsuit spinner yet? Our club has received a welcome donation that you'll find in the women's locker room. Please treat it with care and follow the instructions posted. Thank you, Patti Waterman! OHCC has contracted with a new pool service, Coastal Pool and Spa. Early reports are that our pool has never looked better. It is now being cleaned and vacuumed three times a week. July is a time that many residents have visiting families. Remember to stop at the desk to get a wristband for your guests, both kids and adults. You'll also be given a copy of the pool rules. Guests must always be with a resident. Another important thing to remember is that kids must be at least five years old to be in the pool or in the pool area. This HOA policy is in place for health, safety and insurance reasons. Compliance makes pool time more enjoyable for everyone! We have been advised by the Master Board not to become involved in altercations - instead call the front gate at (760) 578-7111 and ask Security for help. We are an informal group that gathers on the Palm Court to socialize and listen to music from the 60s, 70s and 80s. In the past, every household brought a dish to share potluck style. If you are comfortable with this, please bring your salad, entree, casserole, hot dish, dessert, etc. along with a serving utensil for the buffet table. If you do not wish to share with the community, please bring your own meal. Everything else is "bring your own", i.e. beverages, dishes, utensils, cups, glasses, napkins. Outdoor games are welcome!
