| OHCC LIVING | AUGUST 2026 |25 Papercraing Club Hosts Home Tour for 32 Members The Social Committee — led by Jacqueline and Janeen Sheelen, reintroduced the Home Tours hosted by the club when it first started over 10 years ago. The idea was originally generated to assist new and current members with ways to maximize their craft space in their homes. Four or five Papercrafting hosts welcomed members into their homes and craft space to offer tips and ideas on how to set up and organize their crafting tools. Members often face challenges with the need for space to create and store things including the large variety of supplies such as stamps, inks, metal die cut shapes, punches, embossing folders and powders; there are also tools such as heating tools, spray misters, envelope makers, box makers, scissors, scoring kits, adhesives, inks, and craft mats. Most importantly, a variety of paper is needed in this special art including card stock, designer paper, vellums, coordinated pads of paper, wrapping paper, tissue paper, sheet music, book pages, and any paper that helps bring the card designs come to life. This year, Home Tours were resurrected on June 19 and four members welcomed other crafters into their home craft areas — Sandy Miller, Jeannie Martinsen, Tanya Byers, and Kerry Peyton. The four individual groups were divided into six or seven members who rotated to tour the homes every 20 minutes. All tour attendees were invited to a Clubhouse social time where the group visited, compared ideas from the event and enjoyed appetizers including hummus, guacamole, salsa, chips and mimosas. Many thanks from the club leadership and attendees were expressed to the Home Tour hosts who opened their craft areas for members to learn about the space these creative ladies use in their paper crafting. Participating members raved about the Home Tours and expressed gratitude to all who were involved. Also please check out the display of cards designed in our TOTE and Group classes by various members of our Papercrafting Club including Nancy Stock, Linda Corry, Grace Spencer, Lois Powazek, Janet Rhattigan and Karin Barnes. Written by Lorraine Kleeman Papercrafting Club Great news! OHSPA recently gifted the AV club with a Hisense PX3-PRO Ultra Short Throw Triple Laser Projector. Yes, it's a mouthful! So, here's the "short" story. Because of the generosity of all who support OHSPA, the Board voted to donate a modern feature to enhance the shows on our stage. It is a rich short throw projector that may be used by our brilliant AV team. If you've frequented theaters outside of our community, you may have noticed the creative use of projected scenery. The short throw projector is rich, due to its refined definition and its ability to cast bright images even under the theater's bright lights! The projector can cast a huge 150" diagonal image with just inches of throw. No need to hang a bulky projector with people on stage casting shadows on top of the projected images. OHSPA is delighted to add this feature to the many future shows produced on our stage. It will be used under the direction of our professional A/V specialist, Dario Gonzalez. A special thanks to our wonderful neighbors who enthusiastically support and promote our organization. You made this possible! Also… we have our last show of the year coming in November. Ocean Hills Society for the Performing Arts is excited to round out the year with our final show, "The Bachelors Of Broadway!" Stay tuned, tickets will go on sale in October, so mark your calendars for a delightful show on Nov. 14. You don't want to miss this one!
