FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | AUGUST 2026 57 Classic Film Group Join us on Tuesday, Aug. 4 in e Lodge eater at 6 pm as we present a classic thriller from golden age of cinema — e Hound of the Baskervilles. It is based on a classic Sherlock Holmes novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, featuring Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone ) and Dr. Watson (Nigel Bruce) as they face the unthinkable. "A terrifying excursion into the supernatural!" e most famous line associated with Sherlock Holmes is "Elementary, my dear Watson," but it is actually a misquote. Holmes says "Elementary" and "my dear Watson" separately. Anyone with a request for a classic thriller/ horror lm, please email me at 4seasonsmoviegroup@gmail.com. e Wednesday Matinee on Aug. 12 at 2 pm in the eater will be e First American, which explores the life and legacy of George Washington. He was the crucial gure in winning the American Revolution, creating the Constitution, and establishing the precedents for eective self-government as our rst President. Our second classic lm will be shown Aug. 25 at 6 pm. It will be the 1951 Academy Award winner for best picture All About Eve. "Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy night!" It's the only lm in Oscar history to receive four female acting nominations (Davis and Baxter as Best Actress, Holm and Ritter as Best Supporting Actress) … and lost. e lm stars Bette Davis as Margo Channing, a highly regarded but aging Broadway star, and Anne Baxter as Eve Harrington, an ambitious young fan who maneuvers herself into Channing's life, ultimately threatening Channing's career and her personal relationships. ~ Paul Plamondon, 4seasonsmoviegroup@gmail.com
