Needle Me
I love to crochet! It's a hobby that I can share with others. We have
a large family, and my afghans become treasured gifts for weddings
and each new baby. When there are no special occasions in my
family, I make blankets to donate to Birth Choice, an organization
that helps women to deal with unplanned pregnancies. They
provide supportive counseling, help supply the baby's needs if the
girl decides to keep her baby, or provide assistance if she decides to
give her child up for adoption. They always need blankets and other
donations.
At Needle Me, I get to visit with other ladies as we all work on our
individual projects. One common project we do is making sets of
coasters for the Sunshine Committee to place in welcome baskets
for new Four Seasons residents. We have also made lap blankets for
hospice patients.
If you like to crochet or knit, or would like help learning how, we
always welcome new people! We meet on the first and fourth Friday
of each month in the Arts & Crafts Room at 1 pm. We welcome anyone
to stop by and see what the ladies are working on, or perhaps bring
a sample of your own handiwork to show off. We love to socialize
while our hands are working. If you have any questions or would like
more information, please contact Bobbie Davis at (951) 223-3836 or
Merilyn Burnside at (323) 889-4281.
Thank you to Lynda Harlow for the article submission and for your
donations to such a worthy cause.
