| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | AUGUST 2026 | 5 Letter Presented to the Agencies on their Certicate: Four Seasons Hemet sincerely thanks you for your endeavors in keeping our community safe during the Verona Fire of May 2026. e rst responders cannot be thanked enough. CAL FIRE Riverside did a tremendous job with their ground and air crews. At its peak, a massive response of over 500 personnel, 59 engines, 14 water tenders, 10 hand crews, bulldozers and state air tankers were utilized. In addition, Hemet Fire Department supplied six engines and one Battalion Chief and Soboba Fire Department were on scene. e teamwork of all these agencies was remarkable. Hemet Police Department responded and met with the Battalion Chief to coordinate evacuations. Hemet PD assisted several residents who were physically challenged and unable to self-evacuate. Aer evacuations were complete, Hemet PD and Riverside County Sheri 's Department assisted Fire with trac control and provided security around the community. Our utility companies also played a vital role. Eastern Municipal Water District activated their Emergency Operations Center and placed additional sta on standby. EMWD worked behind the scenes to help protect critical infrastructure and ensured reliable service was maintained, pre-positioning generators in threatened and de-energized areas and sustained reliable water and wastewater service throughout the incident. Southern California Edison and Southern California Gas Company were also available for assistance and safety. American Medical Response assisted one Fireghter who was hospitalized and a civilian with a minor injury, and Riverside County Department of Animal Services was standing by. We really appreciated Hemet Golf Club for the assist in turning on the golf course sprinklers to further aid in the re ght as the ames were quickly approaching the boundaries.
