ADVERTISING Contact Image Up at (909) 797-3647 • imageup1@verizon.net Over the past several months, your community has experienced significant discussion, disagreement, and controversy surrounding AB 1572 and the steps required for your community to comply. We understand that changes affecting your community can generate questions, concerns, and strong opinions. Your Board of Directors and Management recognize that residents want to understand what is happening, why decisions are being made, and how those decisions affect Solera Diamond Valley. At the same time, it is important that we move forward together — with accurate information, respectful communication, and a shared commitment to the best interests of our community. One of the most important responsibilities of the Board of Directors is its fiduciary duty to the Association and all its members. In simple terms, this means that Directors are expected to act in the best interests of the HOA as a whole — not for the benefit of one individual, one group, or one viewpoint. The Board must make decisions based on its responsibilities to the Association, applicable laws and governing documents, financial considerations, and the long- term well-being of the community. Board members may not always make decisions that every homeowner agrees with, but disagreement does not mean the Board is not fulfilling its responsibilities. It is unacceptable for homeowners to verbally accost, intimidate, threaten, or disrespect Management staff or the vendors. Our employees and contracted professionals are here to perform their jobs and serve the community. They should be treated with the same courtesy and respect that every homeowner deserves. Having a disagreement is perfectly acceptable. Asking difficult questions is acceptable. Expressing frustration is acceptable. Verbal abuse, intimidation, harassment, or aggressive behavior is not. If you have a concern, please bring it forward through the appropriate channels. Management and the Board are willing to listen, explain the process, and work toward constructive solutions. The controversy surrounding AB 1572 has also resulted in resident-generated legal expenses that were not anticipated in the Association's budget. HOA funds ultimately come from homeowners, and unexpected expenses can affect the financial resources available for the community's other needs. Rather than allowing disagreements to divide our community, I encourage every homeowner to become part of the process. If you believe something should be done differently, get involved. The Annual Meeting will be held in November, and there will be three Board of Director positions open for two-year terms. Please take the time to learn about the candidates, understand their positions, and vote. There are also several committees and resident groups that provide opportunities to contribute without serving on the Board. Your time, knowledge, experience, and ideas can make a meaningful difference. Be Part of the Solution: Be informed. Be involved. Be respectful. Be willing to listen. And, most importantly, be part of the solution. Let's move forward together with a common goal: protecting the long-term interests, financial health, and quality of life of Solera Diamond Valley for all our residents.
