8 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | October 2026 | Social Committee Did you hear? There will soon be an opening on the Social Committee, so if you're imaginative, creative, and/or organized and want to get involved stop by the Lodge front desk and pick up an application today. When was the last time you danced to the mashed potato, twist, stroll, and hand jive? Those who were at the Aug. 22 Sock Hop did just that! Thanks and appreciation are extended to Debbie Maggy, Pam McIntyre, and all their talented and dedicated volunteers for the time, energy, and imagination they put into this great event. Russ did a great job as DJ and everyone had a such a fun time remembering the days when sock hops were part of our lives! On Sept. 27 the Eagles tribute band "The Long Run" played on the Plaza to a sell-out crowd. A detailed recap of the event, complete with photos, will be featured in next month's Herald article. Mark your calendar! The biennial Holiday Charity Luncheon will be held on Thurs., Dec. 10, beginning at 11:30 am in the Ballroom. This year's luncheon will benefit the local nonprofit Valley Restart. Tickets go on sale on Nov. 11 at a cost of $35 each. Hosts and hostesses are needed for this event to design centerpieces and decorate tables. If you sign up to host, you will have the first opportunity to pick your table and to reserve your guests' seats at that table! You don't need to have nine guests as we will have people signed up who aren't at a hosted table. Please sign up by calling Sue Mushallo at (951) 941-4244 by Sun., Nov. 1. Start making your plans now for the Four Seasons annual New Year's Eve celebration. This year's theme will be "Black & White" so you will want to plan your attire accordingly for this popular event. The Social Committee is working hard to ensure that this is the best event ever. Rest assured - more fun details will be revealed as we approach the season, but you won't want to miss this opportunity to ring in the new year is spectacular fashion with your friends and neighbors. And lastly, a big thanks to all who braved the August heat and humidity to provide snacks and popcorn at this year's Movies on the Plaza series. Your efforts and time are noticed and so appreciated.
