| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | NOVEMBER 2026 | 29 Golf Cart Parade: Done basking in the glow from the July 4th parade, we now must get ready for the next parade, the Halloween Parade. The Halloween Parade will occur on Halloween, Sat., Oct. 31. Be on the lookout for further blasts and notices. The costumes and decorations are always spectacular. A cannot miss event! The parade will take little less than an hour and will be greeted by the residents along the parade route. A map and times will be available at the Lodge. In addition to the cart decorations, the participants will have some spectacular outfits. If you are not in the parade, you may want to come down for the line-up (usually runs from 5:30 to 6 pm on the day of the parade) and check out the cart decorations and the participants costumes. If the normal Herald arrival takes place, this issue will arrive a few days before the parade. Flag Angels: The Flag Angels survived a remarkably busy summer schedule, four f lag postings in six weeks, 4,150 f lags up and down! They hit the ground running in September. Upcoming Events: Two f lag postings will take place up to the end of the year: Veterans Day (Nov. 11), and Pearl Harbor Day (Dec. 7). The Angels posted f lags on Labor Day (Sept. 7), Patriots Day (Sept. 11), and Indigenous People Day (Oct. 12). Halloween Cart Parade: On Halloween night, Sat., Oct. 31 The Carts will begin to line up around 5:30 pm, and the parade will start at 6 pm; it takes about 50 to 60 minutes. Tracie Rodgers will have maps of the route at the front desk of the Lodge. They have approximate times of the parade's arrival in each neighborhood. A lot of the residents and their families come down to the Lodge and get a great look and pictures of the cart and their drivers. The carts' decorations range from a few strands of lights to some extravagant displays; you do not need to go crazy! Every year (see below) for all the parades, Stella Torres, Donna McLaughlin, and Debbi Frazier host a snack and drink table. It does take a village and these three are terrific hostesses! Golf Cart Club The Four Seasons at Hemet website describes our community as an active adult community where "fun will always be on the calendar." Last spring we started the pool club to help organize activities hoping to bring more people out of their homes and get them actively moving in pool activities. It worked! We started water volleyball which created a very fun platform for residents to stay active. We also started the walk fit class where anyone, including residents with physical issues, can participate in walking in the pool to music. The pool provides a safe environment for people to move and exercise supporting joints and muscles in a way that exercising outside of the pool does not. Rich is a resident who has a crushed disc, arthritis, and bone spurs all in the lower part of his back. He is in constant pain, except when he is in the pool. The pool helps relieve the pain and his sciatica. Rich does volleyball, swims laps, and walks in the pool. Lori is a veteran who hurt her knees in the military. She can only do aerobic exercises in the pool. Lori comes to water volleyball, swims laps, and comes to Shannon's water aerobic classes. Both of these residents moved to Four Seasons because of the access they had to the pool. Our pool club's focus is the health and well-being of our community, providing safe activities to stay active and also socialize in fun ways with others. We are grateful to all who support our efforts and hope that the health and well being of our community is important to all. If you have any ideas for more activities in the pool, please let us know. Send your ideas to Jonie Kipling at kiplingj@gmail.com and in the subject line please put "Keeping the pool active." Pool Club
