Performing Arts Club Our July meeting brought a change in PAC's command center. Many kudos and thanks to Colin Taylor were expressed, as he stepped down as President of PAC, amidst applause and cheers for a job extremely and efficiently well done! Sheldon Craig and Susan Youel were voted in as the new Artistic Directors, Barbara Wasco as monthly PAC meeting facilitator. Jane White remains as secretary and Zelyne Rudolph as Treasurer. Okay, Four Seasons, we hear you loud and clear: You want new performances, rather than the traditional variety shows. So help us out here! Give us your ideas, and/or share your talents. Please? Please. Please! Tom Shelley, the director of the radio production, is grateful for the great response for the past productions. The next radio show will be Friday, Oct. 4, and will feature one episode each of two different programs, approximately 30 minutes each. If you enjoyed the previous radio shows and would like to be part of this one, please e-mail Tom Shelley at tomshelley1@verizon.net. He plans to do more programs in the future and always welcomes new cast members. You don't need to be an experienced performer, just have a desire to have fun performing good old radio memories. In December, Four Seasons residents will a have an exciting choice of two fun-filled holiday performances. PAC's Dec. 6, holiday show will feature musical performances by the Four Seasons Singers, as well as a sing-along of favorite holiday songs. Following the show, the audience will exit singing Oh Tannenbaum, and as residents pass our beautifully decorated tree in the lobby, enjoy its fully-lit splendor! PAC is waiting on approval from the Board for the following night's Dec. 7, show featuring the C.A.S.T. players performing a holiday play. This event is to be sponsored by the Association. Don't forget to express your enthusiasm with our new direction, by filling out a participation sheet at the Lodge front desk! Wanna see new stuff? Then help us out! We need you! ~ Eileen Gilbert Amphitheater Production Talk about "Time Flying!" Sunday, Sept. 15, at 7 pm is the Amphitheater's Concert Series Grand Finale featuring the Tom Nolan Band. And what a band it is with nine performers, and their wonderful voices and instruments! What a way to end the season and one you don't want to miss. Otherwise you will have to wait until next summer for more. Don't forget to remind your friends and neighbors to mark their calendars 32 Four Season Singers We will start singing again on Sept. 9, at 3 pm in the Ballroom. We will be working on songs for the "Winter Holiday Show" and songs to sing while caroling and lighting the tree in the Lodge. Did you enjoy our singing for the Fourth of July? Did you ever want to sing but only sing in the shower? Do you think you can't sing with us because you can't read music? That's how some of the Four Seasons Singers started. It sometimes takes a little more patience for someone to catch on, but if you truly want to sing, we are your group. If you stopped by our table on Club Day and said you would like to sing with us, please come to our rehearsal on the Sept. 9. Four Seasons Singers meet in the Ballroom on Monday afternoons. As always, if you are interested in the Four Seasons Singers, you can contact me at (951) 797-3466 or email me at bawasco@dc.rr.com or come to any Monday rehearsal. ~ Barbara Wasco Classical Music Club We are a group of classical music lovers with an interest in sharing our love, knowledge, and interest in classical music. We meet on the second Thursday of each month at 7 pm in the Conference Room. At our meetings, we discuss current music performances. Most of the time is devoted to exploring a selection for the month. In July it was Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 5. In August, we concentrated on Winter from Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. We welcome new members. Contact Steve Bennoff at steve.benoff@ verizon.net or (310) 413-4896 ~ Steve Benoff and that there will be lots of doorless prizes given away that night as well. Speaking of doorless… always remember that the show must go on and we do our best to make it happen. Those who braved the wind, rain and clouds in July, for The British Beat, found the Amphitheater had moved Indoors. In five years we have only moved to the Ballroom on two occasions, once for heat and once for wind, but we will always FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | SEPTEMBER 2013 | clubs & Groups do so for the safety of our equipment, residents and performers. FYI for all those new residents, the Amphitheater is located past the pool area. We have a couple of wheelchairs for anyone in need. Ask a Lodge attendant. Bring a sweater or blanket as the evenings can get cool, even in the summer. All beverages must be in plastic. See you at the Amphitheater. ~ Penny McDonell
