The 8-Ball Club We had Marion and Rick Loney represent our 8-Ball Club at the Club Fair this year, thank you, it was a great table display, good job! In 8-Ball action this time, nine members played for the monthly championship. Thanh and Roland Harrah had to play each other in the semi- finals, where Roland went down in flames. During the finals, Thanh had to beat Dennis Cleveland twice having lost once in the third round, but she did win twice to take the monthly honor. During our 9-Ball in-house tournament, 12 members vied for the 9-Ball championship and once again Thanh and Roland Harrah met in the semi-finals where this time Roland prevailed. Roland lost to Kenny Payne in the finals. Kenny is hot this year! We practice at 7 pm on the first and third Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Our meetings are on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 pm. After our meetings all the billiard balls are cleaned using Arimith cleaning materials as a service to our community. In-house 8-Ball tournament is on the second Wednesday at 7 pm. In-house 9 Ball tournament is on the third Saturday of the month at 1 pm. Our "traveling tournaments" are the second and fourth Monday of the month. The second Monday, we travel to Hemet and on the forth Monday, they come here. Check the message board in the Billiards Room for any changes of dates or locations. ~ Thanh Harrah Billiards for Fun Happy Birthday to us! In August, our club turned one year old! We celebrated at our bi-monthly potluck with birthday cake and balloons. And what an amazing first year it's been. We began the group with just six people, and have grown to 35+ members in just a year! It's not a surprise, though, because word is spreading how much fun we have each Tuesday from 1 to 3 pm in the Billiards Room. There's always lots of laughter, 40 banter and exceptional camaraderie. Additionally, during the Club Fair, several people expressed interest in checking us out. Look to the October Breeze article for pictures of our birthday party and an update of our total members! (You could be one of them, you know!) We encourage anyone who wants to learn to play billiards, or brush up on those cue shots, to come join us!
