The Annual Fall Art Show is coming up on Sat., Sept. 14, 11
am to 3:45 pm in the Main Clubhouse. Stop by to see all the
wonderful artwork that our members have created. In addition,
there will be hands-on demonstrations in oils, pastels and
watercolors by Sun Lakes artists between 1:30 and 3 pm.
If you are a member and would like to participate in the show,
entry forms are in the Art League bin at the Main Clubhouse.
The deadline for entries is Fri., Sept. 6.
Sun Lakes artist Bridgette Greb will demonstrate her pastel/
watercolor technique at our general meeting on Sun., Sept. 15, at
2 pm in the South Clubhouse. To see examples of her work, go to
bridgetteadams.com. All Sun Lakes residents and their guests
are welcome at the meeting. You will have the opportunity to
talk with current members, view and vote on work shown at our
mini-show, and see a demonstration by an experienced artist.

The winners (see inset photo) of the mini-show July's
meeting were: 1st, Ed Brennan; 2nd, Jeanette Burks (center);
and 3rd, Marge Amstadter; Best of Show: Jeanette Burks. The
first, second and third place winners are chosen by those at the
meeting. The Best of Show was chosen by David Fairrington,
the demo artist at the meeting.
Monthly classes are held on Mondays in the Arts and Crafts
Room at the Main Clubhouse from 9 am to 12 pm. Guest artists
teach a variety of media including oils, acrylics, pastels and
watercolors. The classes are for all levels of experience. Steve
McGill will teach pastels on Mondays, Sept. 9, 16, 23, 30. Art
League members will be given priority in signing up for the
class, but non-members may be put on a waiting list. The fee
for the class is $40 for the month for members and $45 for nonmembers. Info., Ramon Salcido, 845-8932.
