alzheimer's & dementia helpers Change is good and change is coming to the Alzheimer's and Dementia Helpers Group because we are changing our name. We are changing our name so that we can include those of you living with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), or any form of memory loss. We are still here for those of you living with Alzheimer's or Dementia, but now we are here for so many more of you. In the next month or two, look for us and our new name, which we hope to be approved as the Sun Lakes Memory Care and Support Group. Our next meeting will be Thurs., Sept. 19, at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Anderson from Anderson Clinical Research. He will be speaking on the latest research on memory loss. This is a great opportunity to find out the most up to date information on memory loss. Lunch following in our Sun Lakes Restaurant for those of you who wish, Alzheimer's patients are welcome at this meeting. Drop them off at the Arts and Crafts Room for games and entertainment with our very capable volunteers. Susan Brown returns this month to entertain. Last month Joey Mercado and friends visited us. Joey is a great ventriloquist and we all had a fun time. Our next Caregivers Support Group meeting will be Tues, Sept. 10, at 1 pm in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. This group is open to all caregivers not just a caregiver to an Alzheimer's person. Refreshments are served at this meeting. Come enjoy and discuss care giving issues or whatever is on your mind.
