Our Oak Glen Yes, we know - it's supposed to be Our Yucaipa. But being that it's fall and knowing what that means to this area, we wanted to spotlight our neighbor. If we were a family, she'd be the sweet old aunt who lives 15 minutes up the hill who we love to visit on weekends. Plus, she ALWAYS has apple pie ready for us. Good ol' Aunt Oak Glen. By Natalie Palmer With the weather cooling off a bit and the kids back to school, the feel of fall is in the air, and that means it's time for a relaxing day trip to Oak Glen. Apple season is in full swing in September with over 20 varieties of tasty apples available at the many apple farms of scenic Oak Glen. Whether you want to host your city slicker relatives for a day of apple picking, or just want to relax with a picnic, Yucaipans are lucky to live so near to a place that seems like a step back in time. Plenty of old fashioned country entertainment, fun gift shops, great lunch spots, and of course apples are available in Oak Glen in the fall; so be sure to take the time to drive the five mile loop of Oak Glen Road through the orchards and visit some of the 30 plus ranches, farms, and businesses in Oak Glen. roasted trip-tip sandwiches, chicken apple sausages, barbecue ribs, all cooked on the huge outside slow roaster. Snow Line Orchard Snow Line Orchard had a great berry crop this season and is expecting a great apple season as well. Stop in to Snow Line when you see the sign on Oak Glen, and then follow the road to the orchard and shop nestled back in the trees away from the main road. Families can enjoy picnics in the shade of the old chestnut trees while enjoying the scenery at the ranch. Be sure to try the cider at the old cider press; their famous apple cider mini donuts are an Oak Glen Staple. Snow Line will be open seven Los Rios Rancho days a week in September.
