crusin' cronies The "Automobile Aficionados Group" or "Car Buffs" meets on the first Saturday of each month (except in December). We welcome all Sun Lakers and guests who enjoy car talk, taking tours with our new or old cars and having a meal out. Our first Saturday of the month meeting begins from 8 to 8:30 am in the parking lot of the Main Clubhouse to show off our cars, look at everyone else's cars, and socialize. From there, we either meet in the Clubhouse or caravan to a different location to have our monthly meeting and breakfast. The exact location is announced well ahead of time. Our next meeting will be Sat., Oct. 5. All group activities are planned, organized and directed by volunteers. We are a great group. Join us. The Airflows styling was radical for that time period and, coupled with production delays, led to poor sales. However, it is now recognized by automotive historians that the airflow was a milestone car and an influential step in the development of the automobile. This rare, award winning Airflow was restored in 1995 with the original 8-cylinder motor and running gear and can up with freeway traffic, not bad for a 79 year old car. The Rothenbuhlers have driven their Airflow to many Airflow Club and other meets and have logged over 19,000 trouble free miles. Driving and showing this car is like having a museum on wheel. Note: The owner's name was left off the September article about the '38 Chevy Coupe. It is owned by Bob Burk. Attention fellow RVers in Sun Lakes! October is our membership renewal month.
