Ballroom Dance Club "Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you, if you're young at heart…" And our Fall Fling did just that — made us young at heart. With lots to eat, and live music provided by the Rainbow Cottage band, we danced and laughed and enjoyed a relaxing, fun-filled evening. If you missed our Fall Fling, you have another opportunity to join in the fun at our Christmas Dinner Dance Party on Dec. 12, at 5 pm in the Ballroom. For your entertainment and dancing pleasure, live music will be provided by Christopher Landry and his band "Shine," and will include Pop, Latin, Foxtrot, Swing, R&B, Slow, Twist, Line dances and many more of your favorites. AND, we'll have a delicious old-fashioned dinner of salad, slow-roasted turkey, creamy mashed potatoes, rich gravy, desserts and beverages. All this for only $20 per person. Seating is limited. Tickets are on sale now – either in the Ballroom on Monday nights from 6 to 8 pm, or contact the following: Gary or Puring Stifter (951) 922-8333, Pam DuChesne (951) 769-3366, Willis or Bev Fagan (951) 769-4482, Toni Finer (951) 7690351. ~Willis Fagan Heart and Soul Line Dance Give yourself a workout that is good for the mind, body, and soul. Join the Heart and Soul Line dance class as we move to the music of R&B, Jazz, Rock & Roll, Salsa, and Country Soul. No partner needed. Wear comfortable shoes (no flip-flops). Did you know that the aging process causes many changes in our body composition and physiological function? Retirement (and well deserved I might add) does find many us slowing down. A concern about this is that as older adults we may find ourselves with significantly greater body fat percentage, reduced muscle mass, and muscle strength. We may experience diminished levels of functional ability — it takes us longer to complete a task, to sit and stand, to climb stairs, and walk slower. Studies on aging have discovered that dancing can be a beneficial form of physical activity for us older adults. Dancing will improve our aerobic power, improve lower body muscle endurance, strength, flexibility, balance, agility, and gait (especially in women). Dancing can also help relieve symptoms of arthritis, osteoporosis, and neurological conditions. More important, dancing improves our balance and this benefit can help reduce our risk of falls. So let's get out there and dance! Classes are Wednesdays, 4 to 6 pm in the Lodge Ballroom! For more information call instructor, Priscilla at (951) 9220755. ~ Priscilla Robles Line Dancing With the holidays fast approaching, we will only be having class on Dec. 3 and 10. This will free up the Ballroom for the many parties other groups have planned. Our classes continue to learn new dances and grow. The advanced class begins at 3:45 and is always working on a new dance. We 30 also take the time to dance to old favorites and refresh our dance steps. If you feel you need to move after the holidays, please give us a try. Beginner's class starts at 3 pm. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! ~ Martha Franck FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2013 | clubs & Groups Old School Dance Everyone is invited to join us the first Friday of the month at the Lodge from 6 to 8 pm.
