Neighborly Notes A reminder for all of us with the holidays fast approaching: Please be sure to update your guest and family lists at the Potrero Gate. "Tis the time for gathering together – but not for waiting for entrance at the gatehouse! While you are thinking "update," you might also want to make sure that your emergency information on file with the Lodge is accurate. Family situations do change. The Lodge files need to be kept current. Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 am on Sunday, Nov. 3. Turn your clocks back one hour. The 2013 Greater Palm Springs LGBT Pride Festival is being held in Palm Springs on November 2 and 3. A group of Four Seasons residents and your gay and lesbian neighbors would like to invite you to go and enjoy it as well. The Festival is held on both days at Sunrise Park in Palm Springs Stadium; the parade is on Sunday on E. Ramon Road along historic Palm Canyon Drive. If you are interested and would like more details, please see pspride.org for Festival information, parade route and spectator advice. If you are interested in obtaining free health screenings including blood pressure, BMI, glucose, cholesterol counts and bone density testing, remember the Senior Health Fair is being By Bobbie Eckel held on Nov. 7, from 8 am to 12 noon at the Albert A. Chatigny Sr. Community Center in Beaumont. Karaoke Night will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9. Join your fellow residents at 5:30 pm for an evening of music and merriment. You have a chance to get a lot of holiday shopping done early before Black Friday. The Holiday Craft Boutique will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16. Guests from our surrounding cities will be able to join us in purchasing unique gifts. Thursday, Nov. 28, is Thanksgiving. The Lodge will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 27, at 4 pm and will not re-open until 9 am on Friday, Nov. 29. Clubs and groups which meet normally on Wednesday evenings, Thursday and Friday will need to decide if they want to reschedule or just skip the meeting on Thanksgiving weekend. Please notify Cindy Graves (cindyg@ euclidmanagement.com) or Bobbie Eckel (eckel2b@aol.com) so that the calendars can reflect your schedule. Mark your calendars for the Holiday Home Tour on Dec. 14 from 10 am until 4 pm. Admission bracelets will be on sale the day of the event from 8 am until 2 pm. This is a great chance to get ideas for home decoration and to admire the efforts of your neighbors. If you are interested in hosting your home on the tour, please pick up a Home Tour Application sheet at the Lodge. Murder Seasons Mystery Dinner It's official! The new 2 costume coordinators original Four Seasons 4 brunette women musical is on its way! So 4 directors 2 set coordinators dust off those acting skills 4 redhead women or, if you've secretly wanted to try your hand at directing 4 choreographers a portion of a musical, this 4 African Am. Women is your opportunity to shine. 2 prop persons 4 men (speaking only) Auditions will be held mid3 stage hands January, preceded by an information meeting TBA. Sign up now at the Lodge front desk to have We will need: 4 blond women an amazing experience! ~ 1 grandfather (speaking) Eileen Gilbert-Antoine Meetings have taken place. Auditions are finished and the cast has been chosen. Now come the rehearsals, rehearsals and more rehearsals. This cast is ready and raring to go. Our Director, Roberta Hokuf, wrote a wonderful mystery and she is anxious to start working with her cast to bring you the best Murder Mystery Theater you have ever attended.
