garden club SEES CANDY: We have all the varieties of chocolates.: lollipops, peanut brittle and gift certificates. We will sell them at the Craft Fair Nov. 1 and 2, from 9 am to 2 pm in the Main Clubhouse Lobby. For your fall and Thanksgiving shopping, we will be in the Main Clubhouse Library from 10 am to 3 pm on Nov. 21, 22, 23, 26 and 27. Shop early for the best selection. Checks and cash accepted. No credit cards. Thanks for your support. Sees Candy is the only fundraiser we have to support our charity donations. At our Nov. 13, meeting Bob Ruseckas will be back by popular demand. Bob is one of our residents and was here to show us many of his beautiful pictures last year. Remember the humming birds? He has graciously accepted to come back again this year. We are fortunate to be able to schedule him, with his busy schedule of traveling abroad several months out of the year. He will have more pictures to show and plans to show us how we can capture our own pictures that will be good material for publishing on the front of the Sun Lakes Lifestyles, etc. DECEMBER PROGRAM: We are pleased to announce that our entertainment this year will be a lovely young singer, Sharon Blurain. We have added a fashion show this year and the fashions will come from Devi's of Redlands. Of course, we are planning a delicious lunch for you. Join us on Dec. 11, in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Tickets will be on sale at the general meeting on Nov. 13. THE WELK THEATER: Nov. 21, Dinner & Show. "Hairspray." $80 pp includes bus, dinner and show. Our seats are in rows 5 and 6, center. Seats assigned at time of reservation. No refunds after Nov. 10. MISSION INN: See the beautiful lights on Dec. 2. Dinner will be on your own. There are many restaurants in the area that you can choose from. If you want to have dinner at the Inn in any of their restaurants, it is a good idea for you to make a reservation. GONDOLA GET AWAY: Dec. 9 in Long Beach. Your dinner stop (on your own) will be at the famous Katella Deli in Los Alamitos. Yum! RANCHO CUCAMONGA HOME HOLIDAY LIGHTS: Dec. 16. We haven't done this tour in a few years as it just got too popular and crowded and the neighborhood did not want people coming in. Now they are inviting the public to come and view their over the top holiday decorations. It really is a sight to see! A few new rules such as the busses can no longer drive into 18 | sun lakes lifestyles | november 2013 | social clubs & groups the neighborhood. The bus will drop you off as close as possible but you will have to walk the tour. It is not far but be sure to wear comfortable shoes and dress warmly. Dinner will be on your own in the lovely shopping area of Victoria Gardens. There are lots of great restaurants in the area. The food planted and raised at Dysart Park by the Plant A Row program is donated to our local pass area kitchens. such as Carol's Kitchen, and Table of Plenty. There is now one row available out at the gardens and if anyone is interested in being a grower, please call Jana at 797-3859. Please come to our monthly meetings on the second Wednesday of the month at 10 am in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. We have many programs such as the Memorial Tree Plantings, the Penny Pines Program and Plant a Tree Program and reports on the many charities that we support. FRUIT PICKING: Don't let that fruit fall off trees and go to waste! We will pick that remaining fruit to share with our local kitchens that feed the hungry. We give those to our local charities and they are passed on to those that are in need of them. Please continue to donate all the items that you have so generously given over the years and to bring those discarded cell phones, eye glasses, stuffed animals and small suitcases or back packs.
