Twist and Shout It Don't Mean a Thing if it Ain't Got That Swing… Old School Dance Line Dancing Our group is working on a special line dance for the Christmas Variety Show and it is coming along great! We hope many of you will attend this fun show that kicks off the Christmas Season here at Four Seasons. Are you aware that not all line dances are done to country music? We do cha-cha, rumba and country rock (which is modern country). Most of our dances can be adapted to almost any type of music. Dancing is a fun way to exercise, laughing along with other people and enjoying good music. It stimulates the brain as well as the feet. You have to concentrate to learn new steps. Dancing improves coordination and balance which we really need as we age. So stay young… take up Line Dancing! There are only a few classes left if you want to learn a couple of line dances before the New Years Eve party. Even if you don't know how to dance, these are easy and quick to learn. The best part of line dancing is you don't need a partner. Just get on the floor and dance alone with other people doing similar steps. Line Dancing is very forgiving; just move in the same direction and it is called a variation, not a mistake. There will be two classes in December, on Dec. 3 and 10. Beginners Class starts at 3 pm Tuesdays in The Lodge Ballroom; the advanced class follows at 3:45 pm. Please join us. Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! If you have any questions, call 769-3889. ~ Martha Franck We enjoy dancing to the tunes from the 50s Rock and Rock, 60s Motown R & B and the smooth sounds of Jazz and down home Blues. We meet the first Friday of each month, from 6 to 8 pm, to share old school dances and learn new moves. Plus it's a great way to keep fit and build new friendships. ~ Willa Harris 30 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2013 | clubs & Groups
