Pickleball We will certainly miss Linda Snipes and all her hard work in getting the courts, nets, and group in such terrific order. As you know I am the co-captain and will take over for now until we have our first post Linda meeting and discuss future plans and ideas. We are in the process of updating our roster. I have made copies for all our current players for corrections. If you would like to check and see if you are still on it, just give me a call. Players are contacting friends and making changes for our final roster. If we have not seen you for awhile, you may have been taken off. Our play times have changed. We have colder days and I am working with Alan and paddle tennis to make it work for everyone. Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday we are blocked out from 8 am to 12 pm. This means that 8 to 9 am there is one court for players (beginners and intermediate) and one court for (advanced). You must make arrangements with other players for this time slot so we don't have too many or too few show up. At 9 am, it is open play time for everyone in the group. We all mix and match and play together. This is when new players should come and check us out! Monday-TuesdayWednesday nights are also blocked out. You must call ahead and get a group to come out with on these nights. There is one beginners/intermediate court and one advanced. Please use the roster to call other players for the 8 - 9 am time slot on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and the 5 to 7 pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Remember too few or too many players just does not work. Remember, you can get a group anytime to play on your own. The front desk has the schedule and you can call and reserve a time for you and your group at any open time. Let's all have fun and enjoy this game! As a result, the group is now able to use all four tables for rotational play. Table number one (peas #1-4) is the coveted table, and the partnership that did not win from that table moves to table number four (where peas #1316 began). Winners from tables four to one move in rotation, trying desperately to get to coveted table number one. On the Nov. 5 play, it just happened that all four ladies who attended were partners. We're extremely proud to say both ladies partnerships moved to table one! Everyone is welcome to join us each Tuesday afternoon from 1 to 3 pm in the Billiards Room. There's never a dull moment with this group! ~Eileen Gilbert Beverly Manuel, preparing to break Norma Jean Cohen and Dee Kelch Ron Erickson and Mike Saperstein were caught laughing during one of their games 38 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | DECEMBER 2013 | SPORTS & Outdoor ACTIVITIES
