The 8-Ball Club
Eleven players participated in the 8
Ball tournament this month. Roland was
undefeated going in and once again went
into the final matches with Kenny Payne.
Kenny is a tough competitor and won the
obligatory two games in a row to come out
victorious. Good job Kenny!
In 9-Ball tournament action, Rick
Loney marched into the finals with nary
a loss. Peter Antoine joined Rick for the
final matches having lost once in earlier
completion. After a field of eight players
participated in the fray, it came down
to Pete having to beat Rick twice, and he
did. One of our newest players, Connie
Childress played exceptionally well in
her first tournament and is an upcoming
challenger, good job Connie!
Anyone of any skill level can join in
our fun, anyone can give you tips on play,
you only need to ask. No one will push
you to shoot a certain way, we all have
our preferences. But if you ask, we will
40
help you. You are encouraged to play in
tournaments when you feel ready, but it
is never required. We just get together
because we love to play the game.
We practice together at 7 pm on first
and third Mondays, Wednesdays and
Fridays. Monthly 8-Ball Club Meetings are
on the first Wednesday of the month at 7
pm. The In-house 8-Ball tournament is on
the second Wednesday at 7 pm. In-house
9-Ball tournament is on the third Saturday
of the month at 1 pm.
Our "traveling tournaments" are the
second and fourth Mondays of the month.
The second Monday, we travel to Hemet
Solera and the fourth Monday Solera
Hemet comes here. Check the message
board in the billiards room for any
changes of dates or locations. Info., Club
