garden club SEES CANDY: It's chocolate time again! We will have all the different varieties of Sees chocolates. Also, we will be selling the popular lollipops, peanut brittle and gift certificates. We will be selling candy at the December Holiday Luncheon on Dec. 11, in the Main Clubhouse Ballroom. Our other sales days will be on Dec. 12, 13 and 14 and again on Dec. 18, 19 and 20, in the Main Clubhouse lobby from 10 am to 3 pm. Shop early for the best selection and you won't be disappointed. Checks and cash accepted, no credit cards please. Thanks for your support over the years. Sees Candy is the only fund raiser we have to support our charity donations. DECEMBER HOLIDAY LUNCHEON: We are pleased to announce that our entertainment this year will be a lovely young woman by the name of Sharon Blurain. Sharon is a singer, song stylist and you will enjoy her music. We have added a fashion show this year and the fashions will come from Devi's of Redlands. Of course we are planning a delicious lunch for you which will include Artisan breads and a yummy dessert. Info., tickets and reservations, call Betty Beidleman at 769-6200. Rancho Cucamonga home holiday lights: Dec. 16. We haven't done this tour in a few years as it just got too popular and crowded and the neighborhood did not want people coming in. Now they are inviting the public to come and 18 | sun lakes lifestyles | december 2013 | social clubs & groups view there over the top holiday decorations. It is a sight to see! A few new rules such as the buses can no longer drive into the neighborhood. The bus will drop you off as close as possible but you will have to walk the tour. It is not far but be sure to wear comfortable shoes and dress warmly. Dinner will be on your own in the lovely shopping area of Victoria Gardens. There are lots of great restaurants in the area for you to choose from. JANUARY TRIP: BANNING MUSEUM TOUR, WILMINGTON: Fri., Jan. 3. Bus leaves at 8 am and returns by 3 pm. $32 pp which includes bus, tip, 1 ½ hour tour. Everyone welcome. The Victorian style Banning Home is still decorated for the holidays. There are stairs so wheelchairs will not be allowed. Lunch is on your own at the fabulous Katella Deli. Bring ice chests or coolers if you want to buy deli items. Phineas Banning was a founder of the city of Wilmington and ran stagecoaches to many points east, one being Banning.
