Community Awareness Committee 2013 started with a bang for the CAC. The Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the realignment of State Route 79 was presented for public review. This realignment will have a major effect on the development of the West End of Hemet. A number of residents were upset with the proximity of SR 79 to Four Seasons. Many residents signed a petition demonstrating their concerns with the project. With the help of Nick Orlandos, the CAC presented the resident's concerns and the petitions to the Riverside County Transit Commission (RCTC). Cathy Bechtel, the Project Director, assured us they would consider our concerns and make every effort to address them. The Commission is now in the process of writing the Final EIR. This process should take about two years. We will continue to monitor this project. After working on the realignment, the activity around Four Seasons settled down. No new projects came forth and the ongoing projects are still, well, ongoing. However, we have been told the light at Florida and California should be installed around the first of the year and the curve on Florida, from Winchester to Four Seasons Blvd., should be improved by the end of 2014. Dates of completion are, at best, good guesses. We can only be sure the projects are still moving forward and will eventually be completed. We are still waiting for the DEIR for Ramona Creek, a shopping center with residential development on 200 acres at the Northeast corner of Florida and Warren. The DEIR was supposed to be presented to the public in June. Financial Report Balance Sheet for November 2013 The Total Assets balance is $4,528,930.27. This includes reserve assets of $3,272,899.91. The Total liabilities are $426,782.36. The reserves are $3,272,899.91. Total Equity is $829,248.00. | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | January 2014 | 8
