Please feel free to visit our group which will focus on gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender concerns, cultural and social aspects of the community. We have good conversations and celebrate the local LGBT community. We're also participating in social activities with the Four Seasons Palm Springs Rainbow Group. We will meet on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 5 pm in the Lodge Conference Room. It's always the third Sunday of the month. Please bring a dish of your choice for a potluck. We'll also celebrate February birthdays and anniversaries. Friends are welcome. If you are interested, contact Dale at (951) 797- 0364; e-mail Dale at dbeckes@dc.rr.com; or Barbara at (951) 845-6246; e-mail Barbara at bamerton@alumni.ucla.edu. We had a lovely holiday luncheon at the Grand Oak Restaurant in Cherry Valley. There were 10 of us and we all had a very good time, with lovely surroundings. We are ready to start this years project for the Beaumont Senior Center, but have a long time to prepare. Come join us. I want to wish all Four Seasons residents and very happy and healthy New Year. ~ Dorothy Payne We began the new women's Bible study, "Believe…" last month. Twelve of the ladies who attended were given details as to how this Bible study came to be, and the vision for this study. We discussed the difference between believe, faith and trust, and cited scriptures to help define them. All Four Seasons women are welcome to and encouraged to attend this non-denominational study, and to meet and make new friends. Come join us every Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 am in the first section of the Ballroom. See you there! ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine. "Believe:" Women's Bible Study Machine Quilting e Chavurah & Havdalah Club This is the current project the Quilting class is doing now. We will be working on this project for a couple of weeks just in time for Valentines Day. So come on down to the Craft Room on Sundays, at 1pm, for a fun-filled day. If you want a kit, please let me know. Future projects we will be doing are aprons, place mats, spring time table runners, 4th of July runners and so much more. We will also be doing a Quilts of Valor, which will be a team effort. Can't wait for that project. Any questions, please call me. Kathy Spallino, (760) 217- 8684. ~ Kathy Spallino The Chavurah & Havdalah Club welcomes all interested Four Seasons residents who want to connect to Judaism, its culture and celebrations. In the coming months we have planned several outstanding events. Jan. 18, we had a Tu B'Shevat house party and celebration of the fruits and vegetables of the season, along with an exciting discussion, led by Burt Orland, of Environmental Awareness, and our responsibility to the land. In February we will have a Travel Event; in March, connecting to other organizations in joyous celebration and carnivals of Purim, celebrating religious freedom; and in April a full Passover Seder and reading of the Hagadah, in our Four Seasons Ballroom. Members enjoy social, cultural and religious get- togethers, connections to other organizations in and around the community, exciting seasonal celebrations, and tasting a variety of Far Eastern and Mediterranean ethnic foods and drinks. For more information or to join, please contact: Rachel at Chavurah.time@aol.com, or call Toni Finer, Program Coordinator, at (951) 769-0351. ~ Kathy Spallino We watched the DVD of The President's Wives and reviewed the Women's Rights Time Line as we discussed the extraordinary but lightly noted efforts of women in America. Our next meeting is Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 7 pm in the Lodge. Tentative agenda is the DVD of President's Mothers. Plan to join us as we celebrate women in America. Discussion leaders are Florene Boyar and Lynette Simonson. ~ Lynette Simonson Women Celebrating America
