CLUBS & GROUPS | FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | FEBRUARY 2014 33 Counter Culture Cinema It is Open House time for our Four Season's Toastmasters Club. The is a time for you, our residents, to join us for an open meeting of entertainment, dinner, a no obligation view of how a meeting is run and what Toastmasters is all about, if you are not already familiar with the organization. However, this Open House will be different than our previous one in several ways. • The speeches will be entertaining speeches (our last Open House concentrated on Special Occasion speeches). • We will be sharing the meeting with the Toastmaster Club from Banning, Hamalot. They meet once a month on the last Sunday at 5 pm at Carrows and are a "humor based" club. (I belong to both clubs.) • We are asking the weatherman and Mother Nature to forgo any bad weather for this evening. • The meeting will be held in the Lodge Ballroom • Several types of food will be provided, or you can order dinner from Smitty's. • It will be held on a Sunday evening, not a Wednesday. toAstmAstErs intErnAtionAl oPEn housE # 2 When: Feb. 9, 6 to 8 pm Where: Four Seasons Lodge Ballroom Why: To be entertained, enjoy a meal, with or without dessert, socialize with your neighbors, and learn about Toastmasters (without ANY obligation) mArk your cAlEnDArs noW! this is An EvEnt you shoulDn't miss! Here is a brief description from IMDB.com: "An ad executive comes up with a campaign to defeat Augusto Pinochet in Chile's 1988 referendum." Our second February screening, on Sunday, Feb. 23 at 6 pm, is the film Greedy Lying Bastards (USA 2012, 90 minutes), rescheduled from an earlier date. Here is a brief description from IMDB.com: "Melting sea ice, glacier loss and rising sea levels. Severe droughts and wildfires. Increasingly severe tornadoes, hurricanes, and flooding. Record heat waves. Climate change is no longer a prediction for the future, but a startling reality of today. Yet, as evidence of our changing climate mounts and the scientific consensus proves human causation, there continues to be little political action to thwart the warming of our planet." The Lodge theatre has very limited seating, so if you're interested in our screenings, come early. We hope to see you there!
