WOW! Rick Loney and Ray Windhorn are dominating in-house tournament play these days… how cool is that? In both 8-Ball and 9-Ball tournaments Rick went into the finals undefeated in a field of seven and then ten respectively. In 8-Ball action Ray came from a single loss against Dewey Allen and went on to beat and eliminate Dewey and proceed into the finals. Rick being undefeated on the day only needed to win once, which he did for the championship, but what a fight by Ray to come back into it. In 9-Ball play Ray dropped one game, to Rick who went on into the finals. Ray beat Dennis Cleveland, Dewey Allen and Gary Christie in the losers column to move into contention for the championship. This time it paid off as Ray defeated Rick Loney twice to take the title. These tournaments are fun and exciting to play in and watch. You never know how well you will do until you try, but even those in our club who have never won a championship have a great time and a few laughs along the way. Anyone can join our club, practice with us and have a good time. Tournaments aren't required but eventually you will probably want to participate because competition is good for the game. It's all in good fun and winning gives you bragging rights and your name on the Champions' Plaque in the Billiards Room. We practice together at 7 pm on first and third Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Monthly 8-Ball Club Meetings are on the first Wednesday of the month at 7 pm. The In-house 8-Ball tournament is on the second Wednesday at 7 pm. In-house 9-Ball tournament is now on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 pm. Our "traveling tournaments" are the second and fourth Monday of the month. The second Monday, we travel to Solera Hemet and the fourth Monday Solera Hemet comes here.
