Besides having lots of fun at every Tuesday's play, we are
actually growing. Yes, we are growing in numbers, that's
for sure, but members individually are also growing as they
challenge themselves every week to expand their skill, strategy
and confidence. Each week as we "pull peas," the members are
paired with a different partner than they had the week before, and
even though skill levels differ from member to member, there is
general acceptance, support and encouragement among the club
members as a whole. This fact alone accounts for the friendships
and genuine fun we experience together as a club.
On July 4th, the club had voted to have a Billiards for Fun Group
double-elimination competition. Everyone had a good time, with
the resultant trophy winners being: Larry Chase who came in
first place, and Brian Anderson second. Dee Kelch was honored as
most improved woman player and Lee Harris as most improved
guy player. Congratulations to all our winners (which actually
consists of ALL participants in the club's competition).
Anyone interested in this fun game, come join us every Tuesday
from 1 to 3 pm in the Billiards Room for our weekly club play.
Also, there is a practice session on Saturdays from 10:30 am to
12:30 pm for anyone in the community who wants to improve their
billiards skill in a practice-oriented environment! All skill levels
are welcome, so come check us out! ~ Eileen Gilbert-Antoine
