Summer is here and we are seeking cooler destinations for
outings. Recent trips have included a multi-day trip to Santa
Barbara with our wives where we enjoyed beautiful weather, some
wonderful day ride scenery and luscious social dining out. Local
weekly rides to Idyllwild, Big Bear and Temecula have allowed us
to ride in the fresh air and enjoy lunch time camaraderie.
We have a family two-night trip to San Diego planned for early
August. Five member couples are participating.
At the end of August, Dan Lanphere and Howard Lyon are
registered to participate in the "Three Flags Classic" annual
motorcycle event. This year's ride will start in Tucson, AZ and go
north 2,200 miles through Utah, Idaho, Washington and end up in
Harrison Hot Springs Resort in British Columbia, Canada. That
ride must be completed in four days so there won't be much time
for real sightseeing. After a "lay day" and the event banquet at the
resort, Dan and Howard will take a leisurely ride home through
Washington, Oregon and California hitting some scenic stops
along the way. The total trip will take two weeks and cover 4,200
miles.
If you like motorcycling come to our meeting and see how much
fun we have. We meet the first Wednesday of the month at 6 pm in
