Well, we are in the warmest weather time of
year. Actually it's flat-out hot most days now, so
vigilance using sunscreen, dressing appropriate and
carrying plenty of fluids on the course is necessary.
Larry Zimmerman reports that there has been a
considerable number of new participants to our
"Distinguished Duffers" Friday morning group play.
Larry has been running the group practically
solo, as both Phil Harris and myself continue to have
problems interfering with our abilities to get out
and participate. Should anyone wish to assist Larry
in periodically coordinating the Friday morning
gathering of us duffers, it would be most helpful.
This would entail selecting and scheduling one of
our local regularly used venues with an appropriate
number of tee times, then e-mailing the group list
with that information, requesting all who wish to
attend to respond back confirming their interest.

Golfing for Fun
We just completed our second club tournament. The winners of this
tournament were Joe and Peggy Ligori and Judy and Mike Puczyk. We had
a potluck at the end of July to present the awards for the tournament. The
4th of July tournament winners were Joanne Martin, Ken Thomas, Bill
Olds and Larry Anderson. For those of you that have never played, please
join us. Skill is not a prerequisite, and it is a lot of fun. We currently play
Tuesday at 9:30 am and Wednesday at 3 pm. Please check with The Lodge
staff because we will be changing to summer hours. If you have questions,
