From The President – Henry Negrete: Ladies and Gentlemen: By the time you read this article we will be fast approaching the month of August. July has been good and here's hoping everyone enjoyed a happy Fourth of July. I now ask that you focus your attention on August. The 12th of August to be exact. On this particular Tuesday, our club will sponsor a fundraising event. This, ladies and gentlemen, is not going to be just another fundraiser but an event that I believe will make us feel very proud of who we are and what we represent. On this occasion, we have been asked by The Four Seasons HOA to help support the needs of homeless veterans and their families. With that in mind, I ask each and every member of our club to stand united and join our Four Seasons Community and, together, support the needs of our neighbors at March Air Reserve Base. Together we shall embrace this opportunity and accept this as a challenge not only to our golf club but also to the overall Four Seasons community. To put things in perspective, on Sept. 5 of this year a BBQ is being planned to feed homeless veterans and their families at March Air Reserve Base. The number of homeless veterans and their families could be as many as 250. To date, the organizers of this event, including members of our own community as well as members of our golf club will be on hand putting things together. Unfortunately, the organizers lack the needed funding to purchase the necessary food and grocery items needed to feed the veterans and their families. This is where we seize the opportunity and make a generous contribution. Our donations, generated by our fundraiser, will help purchase the needed items to ensure these veterans and their families are served proper meals. So, I ask all members of our club, whether you participate in the event or not, stand with us on this occasion and be counted. Personal donations will be accepted and are tax deductible. Specific details on personal donations will come at a later date. Help us demonstrate to those around us who we are and what we are made of. Let's stand together and show our true colors. We are the RED, WHITE and BLUE. From the Tournament Chair – Addis Scott: To play in our Tuesday games, you may sign up at our prior golf event, or sign-up on the sheet located in the Lodge Game Room, by Sunday at noon. For cancellation or late sign- up, please contact Scotty at (951) 926-6131, or by e-mail at addisscott9@aol.com Our August 2014 Game Schedule is: 8/5, 7:30 am: Better 9-Hole Net Score – Front or Back 8/12, 7:30 am: Homeless Veterans Fund Raiser Event 4-Person Team Scramble (Non-Golf Club Members Welcome) 08/19, 7:30 am (T) – Low Net / Low Gross by Flight – Post as Tournament 08/26, 7:30 am Partners Best Net Score Per Hole – By Flight From the Membership Chair – Ross Thomas: The club membership has increased by two new members: George Kuvakas and David Conrad.
