the most part. As has been said many times, this is a social club, so come and join us on Tuesday. We continue to welcome new members, men and women, to enjoy the warm weather and of course the camaraderie that we share with one another. New member applications are available from the Lodge receptionist. Should you have any questions about joining our club, please contact Ross Thomas, (951) 325-2019 or email rthomaspa@ yahoo.com From the Rules Chair – Cliff Post: Now that the pond is almost dry on the 15th hole, a number of issues have developed. I'll only be addressing the 'rules' issue for review. This is still a 'lateral hazard,' therefore if you are certain that your ball entered this hazard you have a number of options. 1. Play the found ball where you find it (with no penalty), but don't ground your club or hit anything in your back swing. This might not be the smartest and safest thing to do. You could very easily twist an ankle or worse. 2. Drop the ball or replacement ball at the point it entered the hazard (one stroke penalty). One club length from there, no closer to the hole. If the ball rolls down, twice, you can then place it. 3. Go back and hit from the tee (one stroke penalty). 4. Hit from the opposite side of the hazard (one stroke penalty) no closer to the hole. 5. Hit from the spot that you hit it in (one stroke penalty). None of us are getting any younger, so climbing down into that area as required by option #1 really may not be wise just to save a stroke. Better to make up for it with a good putt on the green. If you have any rules questions, be sure to grab me any time you see me. Hit 'em straight! From the Social Chair – Ellen Walsh: Happy Summer! The next Golf Club social event will be the BBQ that is scheduled for Tues., Sept. 2. Tickets will again be $6 and will be available starting in August at the golf course prior to Tuesday games and at the Lodge Front Desk. Thank you for your continued participation!
