13 | Four Seasons Hemet Herald | September 2014 | Facilities Committee Over the past few months, we have seen a number of projects draw to a close: • The chain link fence around our property (Lot "A") at the west end has been installed. • New material was installed in the bocce courts to improve the playing surface to support the upcoming season. • The horseshoe pits have been renovated and are ready for play. The staff at the front desk will be happy to assist with equipment check-out. We also have a number of other maintenance and improvement projects in the development stages. These include: • The painting of the exterior of the Lodge, Pool, Fitness, and Guard buildings. • The resurfacing of the Tennis and Paddle Tennis/ Pickle Ball courts which should be accomplished in the September/October time frame. • The slurry sealing of additional streets and our Lodge Parking Lot is now out for bids. Our newest project is a solar system intended to reduce the cost of natural gas to heat our pool (year- round). The Gas Company is offering a very attractive rebate program for commercial customers to reduce their gas consumption. As of this writing, we are applying for a rebate to see how much this would help reduce our gas costs. In conjunction with this project is an opportunity to conserve water through the removal of turf where the solar panels to heat the water will be located. If approved, approximately 4,500 sq. ft. of turf would be removed and the irrigation lines that supported this area will be capped. This area will be just behind the Pool Cabana building. Speaking of turf removal, one of the steps the Landscape and Facilities Committees are taking is a pro- active approach in water conservation by investigating the possibility of any "Turf Removal" rebates that the association can qualify for. The rebates will offset the cost of the removal of the turf and re-routing of the irrigation. We will have more information regarding our efforts to conserve water throughout the Common Areas in the coming months. Please remember if you see something in the Common Area that is in need of attention please fill out a Resident Communication Form available at the Lodge front desk. You will receive an acknowledgment in writing. Thank you from your Facilities Committee.
