Welcome to your Four Seasons library! We certainly hope you are continuously reading and donating books to our fantastic room of books. Our non-fiction section has had a lot of activity lately. You certainly have many choices. I want to remind you that you may go to the front desk for help in reaching that top shelf! We do have a book "easy reach" hanging on the left hand wall but I have somehow managed to pull books down on top of me using it… so do feel free to spot a taller person and ask for a favor. Recently we have culled most of the older 1980s to 90s hardback books. The Hemet Library receives donations from us that they can sell and make a profit. The donations of current books have been remarkable lately. If the book you are going to donate was written in 1988 please take it downtown and peruse their beautiful selection of books. We do wish we could keep all books but we don't have enough room. Our committee is comprised of volunteers who enjoy reading and have a desire to keep our library in order. It takes a full village to accomplish that. There is an unwritten rule that if you are on the committee and you are at the Lodge you check the library before you leave. In one day we might have three committee members working 30-45 minutes at different times to put it back in order. The other day I went in, before leaving the Lodge, and someone had taken six or seven larger hardbound books by Clive Cussler. We ask that you don't take that many. The shelf was really bare. I brought out many different books and rearranged everything so we looked full again. If they are returned all at once it is the opposite challenge. This has been done several times with James Patterson. So, please help us out. A couple of books from one author should be enough. Our magazines fly out of there. Usually movie goers take a couple to read while waiting for the show to start. That makes sense, just return what you read for others to enjoy. Our magazine rack holds three months of donated material. Please bring, July, Aug., and Sept. at this time. We appreciate you and love hearing that you appreciate my hard working volunteers! Committee member Cookie read Haven by Kay Hooper. Kay has a series of books written about FBI Special Crimes Unit with different psychic abilities. There are only a few recurrent characters so each book involves new investigators and different situations. Emma Rayburn was born and raised in Baron Hollow, North Carolina. Emma had an accident while horse back riding and had a head injury, which led to having terrible nightmares almost nightly about women being murdered. They did not feel like mere dreams, she was experiencing the trauma. Her sister, Jesse, had left Baron Hollow without a word to anyone including Emma. Jesse worked for Haven, a privately owned organization whose operatives were also psychics. Jesse worked as a telepath and a medium but there was a trauma in her past that she needed to deal with. Jesse returns home and tries to put together the past that involves evil of some kind. Something horrible had happened to Jesse causing her to bolt from her home and it was time to piece together just what it was. Jesse does come face to face with the past that was horrifying. You won't figure everything out right away, especially "who did it." It's a fast page turner but do be aware that violence is everywhere. The book is found in the hardback section.
