Sun Lakers & Friends Sun Lakers at Canyon Lanes We had a very good summer season. The competition was as hot as the weather. We where lucky to be inside a very well air-conditioned bowling alley. As I write this article seven teams are in contention fighting for first place. Team #9, Take Some Leave Some, with Jerry Schneider, Jim Allen, Ed Quirke, and Jim Ming is trying to hold on to first place and Four Play with Ken Smelker, Mitzi Tanaguchi, Jerry Sanchez, and Ray Roberson are only one game behind. For the men, Harry Taylor is holding onto High Scratch Series with a 682, Andy Toro has High Scratch Game with 268, Bill Mc Donald has High Handicap Series with a 796, and Ray Roberson has High Handicap Game with 279. For the women, Mitzi Tanaguchi is holding on to High Scratch series with a 549, Donna Leone took High Game with a 228, Donna Reed has High Scratch Game with 742, and Faye Bearden has a High Handicap Game with 276. We all had a great time bowling this summer and are looking forward to a great winter season of bowling. Our league starts Sept. 8 at 9:30 am on Mondays at the Morongo Canyon Lanes in Cabazon. I hope to see some new faces from Sun Lakes this winter. Remember for your money there is nothing that can beat bowling with a great group of people. Come out and see what all the fun is about. Our sign up meeting was on Aug. 25. A little bowling humor: My favorite sport is bowling, because I always strike out with the girls. Bowling is a sport that should be right down your alley.
