| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | October 2014 | 12 You do not have to water your lawn every day, even in high temperatures (90° - 110°). In fact, by watering every other day, it is healthier for your lawn in our agriculture Zone 9. Please also check your watering time. Turn sprinklers on and watch the water level at the curb/ sidewalk edge of your lawn. If water is flowing over the edge, you are watering one minute too long. Adjust your timer accordingly. If you need help, please contact the Lodge. One of the ARC members will be happy to assist you. We suggest you do not water your lawn between 7 am and 7 pm as over 60 percent of the water evaporates and does not penetrate the soil. That can cost you financially each month. The Eastern Municipal Water District (our water supplier) has a drought resistant garden at their Perris location north of Hwy. 74, just before the I-215 north on-ramp. Turn right on Trumble Rd. at the traffic signal (2270 Trumble Rd.). They also have brouchers and interesting information on all kinds of plants for our area. When applying for an Exhibit B form to make landscape changes (available at the Lodge Desk) see Michelle Restle if you have an questions or need more information. She is also the person to whome you should give your completed application. ~ John Harrington Architectural Review Committee You may have noticed that there are currently areas around the Lodge that are undergoing some landscape changes. Please bear with us while these renovations are taking place. One factor that affects the new planting schedule is that the Lodge exterior will be painted within the next couple of months or so. We are holding off the replacement of plants until the painting is completed. Imagine how the new plants would look if we planted before the painting...with a trample here, a crush here, and a few paint sprinkles there. Have you felt the heat wave recently? Our plants certainly have. That current heat wave coupled with the existing drought have played havoc with all of our greenery. Speaking of the drought, EMWD has included a brochure with the current drought regulations. There are several Efficiency Requirements listed within the contents of the brochure. Please take the time to read them. Following the efficiency regulations will not only save water but will also save some depletion of the contents of one's wallet, not to mention potential fines. There is also a listing of upcoming workshops that EMWD is hosting. If you have misplaced your brochure you can go to their website and get more information about the workshops and registration.
