COMMunIty news | sun lakes lIfestyles | nOVeMBeR 2014 | 7 The Sun Lakes Marines & Friends will not be collecting "Toys for Tots" for the Marine Corps this year. Our charity destination will be Armed Services YMCA Twenty- nine Palms. Our men and women in uniform make sacrifices each and every day for our country and our freedom, and so do their families. Military children deal with a host of unique issues relating to their lifestyles, family stresses, constant cycle of deployments, and separations that their families have been facing for the last decade. Armed Services YMCA Twenty-nine Palms (ASYMCA) has many programs and services that fill the void for the families and especially the children. Donations support these programs and ASYMCA is a 501c3 charity. For information about ASYMCA, go to www.asymca.org/twentynine-palms-ca. The Sun Lakes Marines and Friends will be collecting donations Nov. 8 at the Sun Lakes Marine Ball celebrating the 239th birthday of The United States Marine Corps. If you would like to donate directly, make checks out to ASYMCA Twenty-nine Palms. Mail to Armed Services YMCA, P.O. Box 6002, Twenty- nine Palms, CA 92278. Please mention The Sun Lakes Marines.
