16 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2014 | COMMUNITY NEWS As we approach New Year's Eve, it is time to give out a few details about our most popular event of the year. First of all let me say tickets sell out fast, so if you have a special table you want you had better get your tickets early. This is one affair where we allow only eight people per table due to the more formal place settings. You can buy a full table of eight or we will place you at a table with others until that table is full. This is done due to the cost. The theme this year is 'The Roaring Twenties' and we are hoping we can do justice to this most opulent period of time. Anne Taylor will be catering the buffet and you will have a choice of: 1) Asian pear salad, orange glazed pork tenderloin w/ roasted sweet potatoes and vegetables 2) Garden salad, grilled herb filet mignon w/roasted potatoes and vegetables 3) Baked ziti with roasted vegetables and red wine reduction All selections will have assorted rolls and butter and dessert will be chocolate raspberry torte cake with ice cream. Please make your dinner choice when buying your tickets as you will be unable to make changes. We will also be having our favorite DJ Tony Zambrana who plays all the music we love to dance to, plus he throws in a few extras. Doors will open at 6 pm and dinner will begin at 7 pm. Tickets go on sale Nov. 10 at 8 am and the last day to buy them is Dec. 22 (if there are any left). As I said earlier please buy your tickets early; every year we have people come at the last minute wanting tickets and it is just not possible. There will be a waiting list on the off chance that someone will buy a ticket and then be unable to use it, but that is taking a risk of getting a ticket. Ticket price for the last eight years for the New Year's Eve gala has always been $50 but due to the raising costs of everything, we find that we have to raise the price of tickets for this gala event to $60 per person. ~ Melody Seewooster Social Committee Communications Committee Architectural review Committee PurPosE oF thE BREEzE: The Breeze is a monthly magazine that provides information of interest to residents of the Four Seasons community. The Breeze publishes committee, club and group reports, calendars of events, stories and photos relating to issues and events within the community — both upcoming and recently completed — and other articles deemed of general interest to community residents. It does not publish letters to the editor or editorials — in other words, it does not take or advocate positions on issues before the community. The place for such advocacy is before the HOA Board or its committees. Also, the Breeze does not carry obituaries, only death notices under the heading "Farewell to Friends." Forms for the notices are available at the Lodge desk. Residents are encouraged to submit articles and photos, subject to approval by the committee. Submissions must be of general interest to the community and may not contain libel, privacy invasion, attacks on individuals or copyright violations. Anonymous submissions will not be considered. Articles can be no longer than 400 words. Exceptions will be made, at the committee's discretion, for events of unusual importance. The Four Seasons website adheres to the same guidelines, except that space is not as limited as it is in the Breeze. Longer items can be considered for inclusion there. There is an exception to the advocacy rule. The Davis- Sterling Act, which governs common interest developments like Four Seasons, requires the Breeze to publish residents' opinions on issues that will be brought to a vote across the community. In that event, the Breeze will publish opinions on both sides of the matter. ~ Communications Committee Welcome to all our new neighbors. Whether you have purchased a new home and need landscaping or own an existing home and want to change your yard, remember to submit your form and plans to the committee for approval. Just a reminder that before you place a satellite dish on your home, approval by this committee is needed. We have an opening on our committee. If you are interested, come to our next meeting. You must be a homeowner to be considered for a position on the committee. We meet on the first and third Wednesday of the month at 9:30 am at the Lodge. Anyone who is interested in seeing our committee at work is welcome to come and observe at one of our meetings. ~ Marsha Gormly
