CLUBS & GROUPS | FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | NOVEMBER 2014 33
"Throughout my lifetime, I have enjoyed trying different
mediums. I have done oil painting and drawing the most. I like
the simple yet complex medium of the pencil because I love the
detail that you are able to obtain with the sharp tip, plus the use
of light and shadow to create contrast, shape and texture. When
I was in junior high I won a competition to design and draw the
front cover of our yearbook. Our mascot was the mustang horse…
this was right up my alley since I have always been compelled to
relate and express the power, grace, beauty and soul of the horse. I
continued to draw and paint throughout high school and college.
When I was first married I did commissioned portraits of horses.
Then life in general was very busy so this was put on hold for many
years. That's why I love going to Rob Kelman's Drawing Class —
it's just a very enjoyable time being around a bunch of wonderful
people. Rob is an excellent instructor and is very personable. I
like hearing him tell us about his life adventures in the art world.
The class is a lot of fun!" ~ Bev Lunetta, Artist of the Month
