Barbershop Chorus December is here and only a few more days to prepare for the season festivities. There are gifts to be wrapped, shopping to be done and parties to attend. There is just so much going on! Hopefully you have already signed up for the Paisano Christmas/holiday party on Sat., Dec. 6, 5 pm at the South Clubhouse. Our November meeting, a Country Western night with chuck wagon barbecue, was a great success. The food was delicious and the music and entertainment were enjoyed by everyone, especially the horse racing game, which created great excitement and hilarity. If you receive your December issue of Lifestyles prior to Dec. 1, this will be your last call for our members' only Christmas/holiday party which is almost at capacity. The festivities will take place on Sat., Dec. 6, at the South Clubhouse starting at 5 pm. The cost is $20 pp. Reservations will be taken by Sylvia McGovern, 445 Shoal Creek Street or call 845-9760, until we have a total of 80 people or until Sun. nov. 30, whichever comes first. Those of you who have signed up for this event can look forward to a memorable evening. There will be three food stations featuring pastas, meats and salads. Also included is the cocktail hour, where we will serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic punch (you may also BYOB) and appetizers for each table. This will be followed by a surprise dessert created by Bob the Baker. Entertainment is to be provided by the Bakers, a delightful vaudeville act. Santa may also put in and appearance and who knows what gifts might be hidden under the Christmas tree. This will be a magical evening for everyone. There will be no dinner meeting in January. Our regular meetings will resume in February when we hope to see all our old friends and some new faces. Announcements will be made of plans for the upcoming year in the January Lifestyles. Sign up and become a new Paisano Club member, we would love to have you join us. Our membership dues are $15 for the year; a year in which we can all look forward to some great theme dinner meetings with entertainment and some special excursions. Paisano Club We are in the process of organizing our 2015 Rally Schedule. We have made a few adjustments in the timing of our rallies for the year and we feel it will be more accommodating. Our Home Rally will be in March and hopefully the weather will be warmer. Also, we will be combining our Sept. & Nov. rallies. We finished off this year with a fantastic rally to Chula Vista RV Resort with 19 rigs in attendance. Everyone enjoyed the activities with the addition of our club's version of horse racing and the game of bolo toss. Some members took advantage of a free tour of the Deering Banjo Factory. Others simply enjoyed the beauty of the San Diego area. A group breakfast hosted by the committee was held at The Galley and our very tasty awards dinner was prepared by Hunter's Steakhouse. March 23-25: Our Home Rally co-hosted by Georgeanne & Vic Shuey and Ellie & Jerry Fawcett. We will have a day of bocce, a day of golf and evening of fun and good food for our awards dinner. More info. will be sent out to all members when available. May 3 - 8: Jackson Rancheria hosted by Linda & Dick Spaulding. This is a premier RV Resort located in California's gold country. There is something for everyone to enjoy. The park provides shuttle service to the nearby casino. Activities include the historic town of Sutter Creek. Some may also enjoy a tour of Black Chasm Caverns. The area has many fine wineries located nearby. Anyone interested, please give the Spaulding's a call at 769-3103 to add your name to the list. Arrangements are being made for a late Sept. rally to Ruidoso, NM. Following this rally some may choose to continue on to enjoy the Balloon Festival in Albuquerque, being held Oct. 2 - 10. If you would like to enjoy the company of good friends and fun times in some beautiful settings this is the club for you. We offer planned activities at each of our rallies with your choice of participation. Activities may include sightseeing in the area, a round of golf, bocce ball, bolo toss, ring toss or bean bag baseball. Some members gather for card games in the evenings. Not the gaming type? We also offer you one of everybody's favorite pastimes of getting together to share a few meals. If you would like to join our club or attend one of our rallies as a guest you may contact Lyn & Jim Ball at 769-3028. Sun Lakes RV Club
