CoMMunIty news | sun lakes lIfestyles | deCeMBeR 2014 | 7 The community will be switching to a new vehicle access device (transponder) starting in January 2015; the process will continue throughout the year. The reason for this switch is because the current transponders are becoming obsolete. The Board of Directors approved this new vehicle access device system on May 1. The new vehicle access devices will be a 3M Sirit Headlamp Tag, and as the name states, they will be placed on your vehicles headlamp. Management has a schedule for residents to be able to exchange their transponders for the new headlamp stickers. The exchange will be completed, by specified districts, at the Administration Office, Monday – Friday 8 am to 12 pm as indicated below: To keep all residents of a district from arriving on the same day, we would propose to have the following schedule: Week #1 each month: Last name A-F Week #2 each month: Last name G-L Week #3 each month: Last name M-R Week #4 each month: Last name S-Z If a resident arrives on their assigned month, on a week other than the one assigned, they will still be accommodated. If a resident is out of town during their assigned month, they may come the following month. Please keep in mind that both the new and old vehicle access devices (transponders) will work on the new system. Residents that are not scheduled until later in the year will have no problem accessing the community. If, at any time, you have problems with the new or old transponder, please contact the administration receptionist. Lastly, during this process, we would like to ask all homeowners to fill out a new "Resident Information Form." The last time this was done was eight years ago and the form has been updated. We would like to ensure that we have current information for each homeowner in terms of vehicles (car, golf cart, RV), owners, non-owner occupants, and emergency contact information. We ask you to please take a few minutes of your time to complete this form. Please find the new form as an insert in this month's Lifestyles Magazine. What you can expect on that day: 1. Drive your vehicle to the administration office and follow the signage for "Transponder Exchange." 2. Hand your completed "Resident Information Form" to the employee/ volunteer. 3. The employee/volunteer will remove the black transponder from the inside of your vehicle. 4. The employee/volunteer will place the new headlamp sticker on your vehicle. 5. No money is necessary if you are simply exchanging the old transponder for the new headlamp sticker; vehicles that have not previously had a transponder will pay a $40 deposit. New Vehicle Access Devices Starting in January 2015!
