| Four Seasons Hemet Herald | January 2015 | 22 Guitar Club If Santa brought you a new guitar for Christmas, come check us out! We are returning this month, but with a little "makeover." We will be meeting the first and third Fridays (with the exception in January, due to New Year's Eve falling on the first Friday). Mark your calendars for January's meetings: they will be on the 9th and 23rd. We are going to focus the first Friday's as having some dedicated time for "Improving the Guitar." Jerry Hawkins, our bass player will be providing some useful instruction on the following: The first session will be aimed at introducing the player to the instrument. "What is the neck? How are the strings laid out? What about tuning, note positions and introduction to chord structure and scales?" Much of this stuff you probably already know, you just haven't realized it. There will be diagrams supplied to refer to, so you don't have to spend time memorizing. Memorization comes through the fun part: playing! Time spent on the lesson should be less than 30 minutes. The third Friday will be focused on "improving your performance." Please contact Cynthia Ellingworth at cynthia0430@verizon.net or 619-672-6777 if you are interested in joining the Guitar Club. The Red Hot Seasons meets the fourth Monday of the month. Our next meeting is Jan. 26, at 2 pm in the Ballroom. New members are always welcome. Our organization has only one rule – NO rules! Come visit us to see what it is all about. This is the most important meeting of the year as we will be taking suggestions and organizing for 2015 events! A big thank you to Lucille4 Gould for arranging our annual Christmas luncheon at La Bella Vita in Temecula. There were 45 members in attendance and everyone had a great time. The food was terrific. Thanks Lucille! Red Hot Seasons
