Taking off pounds results from choices about food and meal planning, attitudes and habits, exercise and fitness. It's never too late to make a change. TOPS is about real people, real success! While other weight loss systems use celebrity spokespersons or sell their foods, TOPS support is for real people, living real lives, eating real food and achieving real, life changing results. We invite you to visit our TOPS table at Activities Day on Sat., Jan. 17 from 9 am to 12 pm at the Main Clubhouse and find out about TOPS success here at Sun Lakes. TOPS meets on Thursdays at the South Clubhouse with weigh-ins starting at 9 am and meeting 10 to 11 am. All residents are welcome to visit once free of charge. We are affordable at $32 a year plus a $3 monthly chapter fee which includes a monthly TOPS magazine and inspiring weekly programs. The following TOPS members are learning how sensible nutrition, portion control, and regular physical activity are making a difference in their lives. They are TOPS Best Losers for the month; Ron Chesnut, John Wright, Ruth Schoonover, Sandy Sky, and Lillie Brown. KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) at their weight goal or under were Alma Bolla, Pat Bonarigo, Linda Callahan, Audrey Carey, Mary Ellen Carroll, Pat Chesnut, Lou Evans, Donna Leone, Dorothy Monterville, Rosalee Strong, and Nora Van Wert. Congratulations to all. TOPS Area Workshop will be held at Banning Estates, 3800 W. Wilson on Sat., Jan. 10 from 9:30 am to 12 pm. We encourage you to attend. Info., Rosalee Strong, 845-9313. Tops (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Low Vision Support Group Join us for the new Low Vision Support Group. We meet the 2nd and 4th Monday each month from 10 am to 12 noon in the Main Clubhouse Multipurpose Room. The purpose of this group is to empower visually impaired people to live fulfilling lives. We will share information regarding the basics of blindness and visual impairment. We will discuss the emotional impact of sight loss and how to cope with the changes in lifestyle. During each meeting we will have a speaker and provide tips on how to safely get around your home and community. Resources will be developed to help our group. Info., Rita Skwara, 267-3054.
