Tennis is alive and well at Sun Lakes. We have a mens and a mixed doubles league going strong thanks to Bob and Michelle Walter. The monthly mixer will be on Feb. 7 at 9 am. Coffee and donuts will be on hand, donation welcome to offset the cost and keep our dues at the present rate of ten dollars per year. Our fourth quarter meeting and Annual Banquet was a huge success thanks to our board and the membership. They danced the night away and had a ball (something other than a tennis ball). We had one revision to the by-laws, to be eligible to play in a club tournament you must be a paid member three months prior to the event or have moved into Sun Lakes during that time. Another reason to get your dues in as soon as possible. The next quarterly meeting will at the South Clubhouse at 5 pm on Feb. 28. This is a potluck so watch for the sign up sheet and come hungry. Additional seating will be available for people who just want to come for the meeting. (There will be a split the pot during this event). Members if you have not already paid your 2015 dues please get them in, we need to make the new roster. The dues are still $10 and a bargain for what we have planned for the year. Remember your dues go to pay for part of the many events we have so be sure to take advantage of every opportunity to be involved. Indian Wells Tennis Tournament will start in March if there is interest in a club excursion please let your board know. We hope to have a year calendar ready for the next Lifestyles, please let us know if you have ideas for any fun events. Some of the up and coming events are St. Patrick's Day dinner, Breakfast at Wimbledon, wine and cheese evenings (with mixer included). Come join us for the tennis or just the party. Final note, we cannot plan for the future if we don't know who our members are so make sure your dues are current.
