Barbershop Chorus Happy February to one and all and a special welcome to those of you who attended the Activities Day on Jan. 17 and signed up for the Paisano Club as a new member. As we all know Feb. 14 is Valentine's Day, so our theme for the February monthly meeting is one of love and chocolate. In order to allow time for sign-up, details of the meeting were outlined in the January edition of Lifestyles. The meeting is to be held on Fri., Feb. 6 and the cut-off date to sign up is Feb. 1. Remember the color of love is red so wear as much red as you can find in your wardrobe. The doors at the South Clubhouse will open at 5 pm. Our menu includes pork tenderloin, apple sauce, twice baked potatoes and green beans followed by a delicious chocolate dessert. Coffee and water will be provided and you are welcome to BYOB. The cost is $13. Entertainment includes "The Oldie Wed Game" (this should be fun). If you haven't already done so and there is still time, please call Provi Donadio at 845-1601 to get your last minute reservations. Upcoming: Mical and Dennis Cisterna, along with the rest of the program committee members, have planned a really fun evening for March. Welcome to the Chili Cook-Off! If you would like to enter by making a big pot of your favorite chili for the competition, please sign up at our February meeting or contact Mical Cisterna at 769-8645. The March meeting is Fri., March 6, at the South Clubhouse with doors opening at 5 pm. In addition to pots of chili, the menu will include all necessary chili toppings, albondigas soup, salad, corn bread and Texas sheet cake. Coffee and water will be provided, and as always you are welcome to BYOB. The cost will be $13. Entertainment will include square dancers, calf roping and a fun photo op. Sounds like a great time to sport your best western gear. The cut-off date to join the fun will be Mon., March 2; so please drop checks off to Provi Donadio, 630 Twin Hills Drive or call her at 845-1601. Please note: those members entering the chili competition will be reimbursed the $13 cost of the dinner at the event on March 6. Become a new Paisano member. Our annual membership dues are $15. Paisano Club Upcoming Rallies: March 23-25: Our Home Rally co-hosted by Georgeanne & Vic Shuey and Ellie & Jerry Fawcett. We will have a day of bocce, a day of golf and evening of fun and good food for our awards dinner. More info. will be sent out to all members when available. May 3 - 8: Jackson Rancheria hosted by Linda & Dick Spaulding. This is a premier RV Resort located in California's gold country. There is something for everyone to enjoy. The park provides shuttle service to the nearby casino. Activities include the historic town of Sutter Creek. Some may also enjoy a tour of Black Chasm Caverns. The area has many fine wineries located nearby. Anyone interested, please give the Spaulding's a call at 769-3103 to add your name to the list. Arrangements are being made for a late Sept. rally to Ruidoso, NM. Following this rally some may choose to continue on to enjoy the Balloon Festival in Albuquerque, being held Oct. 2 - 10. If you would like to enjoy the company of good friends and fun times in some beautiful settings this is the club for you. We offer planned activities at each of our rallies with your choice of participation. Activities may include sightseeing in the area, a round of golf, bocce ball, bolo toss, ring toss or bean bag baseball. Some members gather for card games in the evenings. Not the gaming type? We also offer you one of everybody's favorite pastimes of getting together to share a few meals.
