We finally had our big Christmas/Dinner Dance and it was a spectacular success. The ballroom, thanks to all the volunteers who came early that morning to help us decorate, was transformed into a Christmas Winter Wonderland. It looked grand! Everyone who saw or came was in awe of the room. Thank you volunteers. Your commitment and help was greatly appreciated. The food was scrumptious. The jazz band dazzled us with their music and the singer Dino took us back in time with his renditions of the "oldies but goodies." It was fantastic. Everyone danced the night away. Oh! Did I mention that the guests were all dressed up in their holiday best. Everyone agreed, "it truly was a Christmas memory they would always cherish." A rousing cheer for all who volunteered and participated in making this a successful event. Next year will even be better! Our second annual toy drive went well also. Betty Ann James and Linda Wright took the toys to the Highway Patrol. They were greatly appreciated. The Multicultural Evening of Gospel Music on Sunday, Feb. 8, from 5:30 to 7 pm in the Lodge Ballroom is shaping up nicely. It promised to be an uplifting evening of music. This is a free event for all the community to enjoy. This event is hosted by AACC member Cookie Bonner and our Homeowners Association. Let's make the concert a true reflection of our community spirit of togetherness. Contact Cookie Bonner for more information (951) 769-7679. February is Black History Month, please check the bulletin board at the Lodge for special events for the month. We will keep you informed via email and flyers. As always we invite you to join us Monday, March 2, at 6 pm in the Card Room for our next meeting. We are looking for new members, new ideas, and new talents, Please come and join us, Contact Betty Ann James (951) 769-2517. ~ Roxie Elliott African American Culture Club
