FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2015 13
It was a nine-way tie for first place in the contest to name Rec Center Two.
The newly named "Summit" opened Monday, Feb. 2.
Each of the winners received a nicely illustrated certificate with a "commemorative" swimming pool tile attached and
a $25 gift certificate to Smitty's Bistro. They also received a free, lifetime membership to the center (so did every other
resident – but don't tell the winners).
The residents who submitted the winning name were Marty and Jean Bauer, Frank and Jackie Bott, Dianne Kemp, Robert
Kemp, Helen Lindstrom, Kimi Olsen, Leon Olsen, Carolyn Traynor and Natalie and Larry Zimmerman.
Among losing entries the judges liked were See View, Palisades, Alta Vista, Splash, and Waterobics Center ("WC" for short).
The Summit, on Four Seasons Circle at Mesa Verde Park, features an indoor swimming pool, a small workout center, an
outdoor spa, horseshoe and bocce ball courts, a patio with outdoor grills, manicured grounds and a spectacular view.
The Summit will be open with an attendant present from 7 am to 7 pm each day. The schedule of activities in the pool is
still being worked out. No children (under 18) are allowed in the pool or workout area and adult guests are excluded from
the workout room and may use the pool only during free swim times.
A formal opening ceremony is being planned, but its date has not been set. ~ Leighton McLaughlin
