48 FOUR SEASONS BREEZE | MARCH 2015 The Summit finally opened the first week of February, and we began playing on the new courts immediately. Everyone was very excited. The view was outstanding and the weather was near perfect. We are playing on Tuesdays at 9:30 am and Wednesdays at 3 pm. Because of the size of the club, both locations are still being used, and there are occasional rain/wind days so check the Lodge for current information. For those of you who have never played, please join us. Skill is not a prerequisite, and it is a lot of fun. If you have questions please contact Bob Cooper at (951) 769-6352 or Mike Saperstein at (951) 769-7909. ~ Bob Cooper Bocce Ball It seems as though spring is here already and the Motorcycle Club has taken advantage of our wonderful Southern California riding weather. Our recent "Day Trips" included both Joshua Tree and another tour around the Salton Sea. We also made a wonderful overnight trip to San Diego. Bob Howard guided us through some beautiful remote country where it seemed that we had the entire road to ourselves. Our route took us south via Hwy. 79 through Warner Springs then east to Borrego Springs for lunch. After lunch we headed south out of the park and took Hwy. 78 to Scissors Crossing. To this point these were all familiar roads for the Motorcycle Club. At this point we took S2 (the Old Overland Stage Route) down through Agua Caliente Springs and on to Ocotillo. Then it was westbound near the Mexican border on Hwy. 94. Hwy. 94 was a great route for motorcycles and went through several cute small towns on the way to San Diego. It was a wonderful ride for our first overnight trip of the year. We continue our weekly "Day Rides" each Thursday. Come out and join us. We leave the Lodge at 9 am most Thursdays. We have a confirmed multi-day trip to Utah on the calendar for April and we are in the planning stage for other multi-day trips for later in the year. Our club meets in the Lodge Ballroom on the first Wednesday of each month at 6 pm. ~ Howard Lyon Motorcycle Club 5% Military Discount (former & current members) Ask for the Jarhead! 909-965-8404 Since 1985 Licensed & Insured DON'S TREE SERVICE • Ornamental Beautification of Trees • Preventative Maintenance from Wind Destruction • Correct Pruning, Trimming Skills • Tree Removals, Stump Grinding • Tree Planting/Transplanting If you are interested in learning more about this group, please join us for our meeting which is held the second Tuesday of the month at 7 pm at the Lodge, usually in the Ballroom.
