We've always done what we should do, but now it's time to do what we want to do. We're just regular folks having fun. We move to the music, and we dance like no one is watching. Our beautiful ballroom provides a great place to dance. But we also dance at weddings, on cruises, at parties, in gyms, community centers, country clubs, church halls, indoors or outdoors – just about anywhere there's music and space to move our feet to the beat. If you weren't at our last Dinner Dance you missed a real treat. Our Valentine's Day party was very enjoyable, with nice decorations, a full dinner, great music and lots of dancing and fun. Up next is our Summer Fun Dinner Dance, on Saturday, July 24. Tickets will be available early in June. Once again we'll be entertained by the ever-popular Skyline Xpress band. So put this on your calendar and plan to be with us for a good evening out. Every dance, several people stand off to the side trying to figure out the steps. Or they come on to the dance floor and almost trip the dancers trying to follow what they are doing. There is an easier way…come to class. We always welcome those who want to start learning to dance to country music. We take the time to teach you one step at a time in the beginner's class and use easier dances to get you started. The most common dance, the Electric Slide has only 18 steps and is done at every country dance function everywhere. Stop standing on the sidelines, join us and learn. You will be surprised how easy it is. As a bonus you'll laugh, have fun, get some exercise, maybe form some new friendships; making it all worthwhile. And next time you come to one of our social dances or go to a wedding, you will amaze yourself and be able to get up and join the dancers. Beginners Class at 3 pm Tuesdays in The Lodge Ballroom, advanced class follows at 3:45 pm. Classes are free; however, we collect a one dollar voluntary donation which goes to the Performing Arts Club. Hope to see you at the next class.
